DOCTOR
Roy Artal, M.D. is a multi board-certified pulmonary and sleep medicine specialist.
Raised in Southern California, Dr. Artal obtained his Bachelor's degree in Psychobiology from the University of Southern California, where he was the recipient of the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Undergraduate Achievement Award. His medical training was subsequently completed at the University of California Los Angeles David Geffen School of Medicine, internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, and fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the Cedars-Sinai-UCLA Combined Fellowship Program, serving as the Chief Fellow during his senior year in the program. Dr. Artal has been in private practice in Southern California since 2001.
Dr. Artal’s clinical focus encompasses both diseases of the respiratory tract and sleep medicine. Personally and professionally Dr. Artal also has a strong interest on the effects of nutrition on health and illness, and is a strong advocate of plant based nutrition in preventing and reversing many of the chronic illnesses that plague our society.
Triple board certified, Dr. Artal is certified in Sleep Medicine by the American Board of Sleep Medicine, and certified in Pulmonary Medicine, Sleep Medicine, and Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a Clinical Instructor of Medicine at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, the Medical Director of Tower Sleep Medicine (an American Academy of Sleep Medicine accredited sleep disorders center), a member of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Women's Guild Lung Institute Center of Excellence, and is a Fellow of both the American College of Chest Physicians and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Artal's clinical work has been recognized by both patients and peers alike, having been honored multiple years in the Los Angeles Magazine Top Doctor survey.
